Anyone Like Reading Books About Sports??

I'm asking this question because I'm on my second book related to sports. The first one was a John Grisham -- believe it or not -- novel called Playing for Pizza, which is about a washed-up American football player who is run out of town after a blown playoff game and goes to play Football Americano in Parma, Italy. While there, he encounters a new culture, new love, and a new love for playing the game. A real departure for John Grisham, well written and accurate. There is actually American football in Italy.

The second book I'm reading is called Next Man Up which is about the 2004 Baltimore Ravens football team. The book is written by a Baltimore sports reporter who as given unfettered access to the players, coaches, and the owner. The book starts with the history of the team from when they were the Cleveland Browns and then the Ravens. This book is more sports intensive than the Grisham book but if you like football, then you will enjoy reading this book. Next Man Up is different from Playing for Pizza in that Playing for Pizza focuses on the culture shock of a football player from Iowa who is now a stranger in a foreign land because he is no longer welcome in America and has to make the best of it.

I'll definitely look up that Grisham book. I like that he branches out into other areas not related to law.
Over the summer I did read The Innocent Man written by him. If you haven't read that one, it is definitely interesting. If you don't know it, it's a true story about a baseball player in the Midwest who was wrongly convicted of murder. To me it's must read. I loved the book so much, I bought the audio version and I've practiced to it!
