Can't figure out a word.  I have (phonetic) after it.  HELP?!

Q. Can you tell us more specifically where it was fractured, if you recall?

A. Yes.  So it was broken about -- probably about a little more than halfway down the stem, and the top part of the stem was unsupported by bone, and the bottom part was sallie (phonetic) fixed in the tube of the thigh bone and was broken at the junction where it was fixed and not fixed.

Could it be semi fixed?
I don't think so unfortunately.  It sounds really like "saully."

Could it possibly be "solidly"?

I think it's "solid fixed."  See here: Hip replacement article.

See Reference 2, which says, "Robbins GM, Masri BA, Garbuz DS, Duncan CP. Evaluation of pain in patients with apparently solid fixed total hip arthroplasty component. J Am Acad Surg. 2002; 10(2):86-94.

Thanks, Lisa, Diane and Quyen :)

I'm changing it to "solidly."
