Eclipse Version 5 Users

This group is for Version 5 users to share what aspects of Version 5 they are using and why.....as well as requests for help as problems arise using Version 5.

I just downloaded Version 5 (a year after it came out), and I feel like I'm learning Eclipse all over again.

Would greatly appreciate input from other Version 5 users.

well, I had to play with it again and now it's insisting that both be the same size font....grrrr.

Okay...so I went back in and changed the font on the stats to Arial 26 so everything was the same.  Then went back in and changed the stats font to 12 and it let me. So now the AutoBriefs are at 26 and stats are at 12.  Yeah!!!!

I'm using my info bar only for Autobriefs and Stats.  Am on a job now.  Changed the font on the stats to Arial 12.  Looks nice.  Changed the font on the autobrief to Arial 26 but nothing changed.  It appears that the font size for the stats is overriding the font size for AutoBrief.  Anyone run into this?

Or do it on a totally different computer than the one you take on jobs and play with a while and see if it's something you're will to risk or can wait until everything is working smoothly.  I don't ever download the latest version on my working laptop until it's all goooooood.

Yes, it is a real update.  I think that vox and steno use the exact same software, but the code for the key is different.

I think Jenny is on to something, though.  I tried a virtual tran and got an access violation.  I haven't tried a regular RT setup yet, though.

It's always a good idea to try out a new version before taking it on a job.

Also, VERY IMPORTANT:  When you download an update, rename it with the version number so you know which it is.  Then if ever there's an issue with the new version, you'll still have the install file for the previous version and you'll be able to reinstall that.

I had a freezing issue while doing virtual retranslation on the new 5.0.0.18 update.  I sent my files in.

Laura, so 5.0.0.18 is a real update, right, not a development version....and it says something about VOX users but it's for steno people too, right?  So do use the same software as the voice people?

FYI, Jeremy's posted version 5.0.0.18 today.  It's got quite a few bug fixes, so it's definitely worth downloading and installing, especially if you're working with 5.0.0.14.

I'd love to know the steps as well, but please post it in the Dropbox discussion so I can search for it later and direct other people there as well.  Thanks!!!
