Eclipse Version 5 Users

This group is for Version 5 users to share what aspects of Version 5 they are using and why.....as well as requests for help as problems arise using Version 5.

I just downloaded Version 5 (a year after it came out), and I feel like I'm learning Eclipse all over again.

Would greatly appreciate input from other Version 5 users.

I have a shortcut on my home computer that opens up my V5 Jenny folder.  When I get home, I put my flash in the computer, click on the My Computer shortcut and get in the flash.  Then I shift click all my most recent files so they're all highlighted, press Ctrl c to copy.  Then I click on my Jenny folder shortcut and press Ctrl v.  There may be an easier way, though.  I'd like to know about it too.

Jenny,

I went to Help, clicked on Documentation, Eclipse Documentation....nothing.

I also clicked on the Visualizers.....nothing.

Can you help?

It's in the spell options.  Uncheck it.  I like it.

I'm still confused on how to get the files on my computer at home.  If I go to documents and then Eclipse and then Kelli, that's all fine and dandy but how do I get my thumb drive to dump the files there?  When I right click on the file in my thumb drive and then hit "Send to" I hit "Documents" and absolutely nothing happens.  Not sure where to go from here.  Thought I would ask before I have to call support.

I'm sure it's easy once you do it, but it is set up way differently now and not sure how to transfer files to the V5 now.

I went to ALT U and then display thinking it would be there for me to uncheck for the red line.  Can't find it there.  Jenny, do you know where that is?  It's annoying me.

Wynne, see if you didn't already have that loaded.  In Eclipse click on Help/Eclipse Documentation.  It may have a different title, but look for the date.  Some of us got on Version 5 in different ways, and different things loaded.  You should have the Eclipse Realtime Kit.pdf with the 2011 date as well.

well, it's true....there really is a Version 5 manual that can be downloaded.

it's in the download section.....TEManual5.9df......look for the date April 26, 2011

thanks, Jenny, I would never have seen it without your post

Okay.  I used the V5 today and I have two questions.  First, how do I get rid of the red underlining of words?  I find that distracting.  Second, after I put the job on a thumb drive and want to download it onto my new computer, I can't seem to find a way to put it into V5.  I used to hit right click in my thumbdrive folder and hit send to and then it would show Kelli for Eclipse.  Now that it is in the "Documents" folder, when I hit Send To, and I hit Documents, nothing happens.  It doesn't open up the documents folder for me to pick Eclipse.

I am fighting with it.

Jenny, how did you get get two monitors going?  I'm fairly techy but I've never thought about two screens and need to do that with exhibits here at the house (use two monitors) and I'd like to have my autobriefs on a separate screen than my transcript like you did so I can see more of my transcript.  You can Email me privately if you want.

And Jason got my new Infinity machine going last night and it is freaking awesome!!!
