Hi Lori, it's great to see you here, hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

    Your welcome!
San Francisco is great, I love it here.

I am sure Costa Rica is really beautiful, thats just the image in my head.

  • Tami

I used to work with a reporter named Christine Buckner in CA. Are you related??
  • Tami

    Oh, and WELCOME!!
  • Tami

Yes, it's a juggling act, and I have to admit I've dropped a few balls along the way, but life is so good, and I just feel blessed.

I've always wanted to go to Costa Rica. One of these days . . .
  • Chuck Motter

Hey, Byrdie! You just keep on following me (or am I following you???) Whichever is fine with me, my friend.

Lori, I'm on Eclipse too, but I'm certainly no expert. It's so nice to see another experienced Eclipse user on this site. Only yesterday I fixed a speaker issue I've been having since forever! It took Brenda Rogers from this site and several posts on the CompuServe forum and a call to Eclipse support to fix it, but I'm happy now. It had to do with using the shortcut Ctrl 1 to change a speaker. Do you know what I mean? If not, that means we need another Eclipse discussion! Enjoy this site - it's so addicting!

one of my favorite areas in the world! Yes, it is so beautiful here, but I do have a very twisty drive to get into San Jose where most of my work is. Sometimes I get so involved on the computer that I forget to turn around and look out my window. It is a beautiful sunny day today. I am smack dab in the redwoods, but I have lots of sun as well on the hill here. It took us six months to find this house as there is so much shade and dampness under these trees. I wanted a house with some sun! Reading your profile, it sounds like you enjoy the outdoors and sun yourself. I used to really enjoy gardening at my previous Bay Area house, but since we moved out here, the deer eat everything so I let the yard go completely natural!

    Hi Lori,
I will gladly start the event, do you have a link to the event info on the NCRAs site?
I can use it to start it.
Also, be careful... I might take you up on the offer of visiting Costa Rica :D

BTW: I have three acres of raw land in Costa Rica about 1/2 hour from Tamarindo in the Guancaste region. Do you know where that is??
  • Jenny Griffin, RMR CRR CCRR CRC

Hi! I must say that as I just went out to fetch the mail, it is extremely gorgeous out today. Lots of sun yet cool. I'm forcing myself to do my taxes, but I really need to at least walk outside within the next hour to get my beautiful nature fix! Hope you're seeing some sun today as well!
  • YVONNE FENNELLY

And I know a scopist in Langosta, which is a really nice area of Tamarindo.
We're busy putting our 2 kids through college, so our funds are tied up in this falling economy. We need to hold off on developing it. My husband was there 6 months ago, but truthfully, there are so many places I want to see, it's going to be some time before I get there again.

Lori, I just read you were on TomCAT too! I got that system in '80 and stayed on it until I got Eclipse in 2002! I never did edit in TomCAT. My brother Scot wrote a special program so we could edit in Word! When I finally got Eclipse, my main dix was so small - thanks to the TomCAT universal dix - so I merged the StenEd dix into mine, and I've been cleaning it up ever since. I'm so glad we finally got on Eclipse, and it's nice to read about others who appreciate it as well. Hope you've got plenty of work these days!

Hey, Lori, we missed seeing you during your recent visit to DC!

We have a couple of short Outfluence presentations in June. Maybe we can get you to one of those! That would be great fun, Lori. They're in front of business groups, not reporting groups. If not that, let's do dinner. Kay and I will look forward to seeing you!
  • Rhonda R. Harris, CSR

yes, I plan to attend the convention, all three days...well, four because I am doing the tour on Thursday. It would be great if we could me. Hope you come.
  • Mari Jusino

Lori, sorry got your message late, but I will call you when I get home this evening and we can work out the details. I am absolutely interested! Talk to you later.

    Hello, Lori

I was wondering if I could get some feedback from you about how the work situation is in Washington these days?  Is work picking up for you?

Thanks, Lori, for getting back to me.  Things seem to be picking up in my area a bit, San Francisco.  I was super slow about five months ago.  I just hope it continues to stay steady.

    Have a great weekend.

    Lori -

Did you ever get your LightSpeed?  Was wondering what you thought.  I bought one about five years ago and just couldn't get used to it.  I wanted to try it again and was wondering what you think.

    Hi Lori,

I'm an official in Sioux Falls and I don't take outside jobs, but as far as freelancers here, most everyone is independent.  Kerry Lange has Dakotah Reporting, but I think it's just her and maybe one other reporter.  We are an anti-contracting state, so we don't get involved with any of the big contracting firms.  Hope this answers your question.  Where are you now?
