Occasionally I get reporters requesting that I proof a job, however I'm already pretty busy with scoping. Are there any proofreaders that would be interested in having me just pass their name along? I'm looking for at least one StenoCAT and one DigitalCAT proofreader. Let me know, sampson.scoping@gmail.com

Hello, from a former court reporter (10 years).  I'm in need of a reporter or two to proof for evenings and weekends.  I've proofed for a federal reporter and a few freelancers.  I am reliable, dependable, absolutely METICULOUS, and LOVE proofreading.  I'll treat your transcript as if it were my own and will be sensitive to your preferences and needs.  Please give me a try and help me get my car fixed to boot!  E-mail me at steno182@gmail.com for my rates.  Thanks very, very much!  Julie

Kate!!!  Hey, I think I'm going to be busy in this court, and I'll keep that in mind.  Maybe we can do lunch real soon!

Hello fellow reporters,

My husband has gone back to school and I am the official breadwinner for my family right now.  I have a slow court where I wear the hat of the coordinator and reporter but have time to fill proofing or scoping.  I graduated from Alvin Community College and have been a Texas CSR for 10 years.  Please contact me if you are in need of someone to treat your job like it was my own.  I have CASE and am extremely computer/software savvy.

Experienced digitalCAT / Straight Proofreader Working During Holidays!

I have been providing "straight proofreading" services since November 2002 and proofreading with digitalCAT since August 2012. This is not a hobby or part-time job; it is my full-time career seven days per week, and I even work all holidays.

Several months ago, I purchased a scopist license from digitalCAT because it was recommended by a reporter with Realtime Reporters in West Virginia (Teresa Evans). She was kind enough to send me several transcripts to train with for proofreading using full audio on digitalCAT.

I have provided digitalCAT proofreading for Alabama Realtime Systems Administrator Greta Duckett utilizing spot-check audio.

Also on my digitalCAT roster of satisfied clients is New York reporter Mary Slavik who requested that I proofread transcripts without audio in digitalCAT; however, I do make obvious corrections for her directly in the software and bookmark or flag questionable items.

Page rates depend on cleanliness, nature of transcript, and turnaround demands; however, they generally start at .35 per page for depositions and .40 for any type of court trial/hearing or arbitration/meeting with no audio. Rates are negotiable for proofreading with full or spot-check audio.

I am still providing straight proofreading on paper with errata sheet, so please contact me for that service in the event you are not on digitalCAT. Missouri court reporter extraordinaire Chuck Motter has been utilizing my straight proofreading services for several years now and his unsolicited testimonial can be found on my website.

Thank you and Merry Christmahanakwanzaka!

I am a busy reporter in L.A. and am looking for an overflow proofreader (there is lots of overflow), with volume of work possibly increasing in the future.  Mostly business/employment/expert work.  I'm looking for sophisticated grammar and punctuation skills.  I pay twice a month, without fail, on all work billed by cutoff date.  All work is sent in an ASCII .txt format.  I am looking for corrections inserted into the text, not an errata sheet.  If interested, please e-mail me (elenachester@earthlink.net) with rates and turnaround information.  I look forward to hearing from you.  Thanks!
