Hey Everyone:

I know that I had withdrawn from CSRNation for quite some time. I had many things going on in my life and social networking sites like this one and facebook just took a back seat. My mom had to have her ovaries and uterus removed because doctors had found some tumors. I had to take care of my mom for a month and half, not to mention her cousin passing away the week before the surgery.

So many Machines, where do I start?

I am relatively new to the world of court reporting. I am currently a student looking to buy my very first machine, the only problem is I have so many questions and not sure where to find the answers.

1. In California, does it matter if you are writing with the most modern machines, or can I get by with a Stenture 400 SRT for at least my first year? Or A Stentura Protege?

2. What are the major differences between a Stentura 8000 and a Stentura 8000LX?

I checked the serial number and I believe it was only a few years old. I was asking $1,250, but since you're a student I would take $1,000. It's a great machine and has very reliable back up to the flash drive. I use it everyday, but this weekend I'm getting a Mira because I recently had spine surgery and have a little nerve damage in my right hand. I need the Mira with all the fancy adjustments to make up for the lack of strength in some of my fingers.
