Here is what was CCRA sent out to all California CSRs in regards to students. I hope you will pass the information on to all your fellow students.
I AM A STUDENT, SHOULD I QUIT SCHOOL?
Definitely not. There are reporters out there with 30 years’ experience that will tell you this was an issue when they were in school. This, too, shall pass. Stay informed, get involved, help in any way you can. You are our most valuable asset and we will do everything we can to not let you down.
I just read your post about the CA ER threat. I told myself and other students not to worry about it to a point where the threat questions whether we should pursue court reporting altogether, because of the associations fighting back. I'm glad to hear that. Once I earn my CSR, I want the option of either going into the courtroom, or depositions.
Hi Lesia!
Thanks for the heads-up on the convention in your lovely state. I plan on attending! Its just one day after my birthday (July 23rd), so, its easy to remember.
You are a valuable person to know, thanks again!

Hello Lesia:
I'm new to the site, just wanted to say HI!
You being from California, is there a convention soon in Anaheim?
Any information you can give me is appreciated. Thanks

Hi Lesia,
I hope you don't mind, but I read your comment in the discussion on briefs and I went to your page and saw that you are a CRR. The CRR has been in the back of mind for almost 2 years now. I'm an official and I do not have to write realtime for my judge, but I would like to make myself more marketable by learning to realtime and obtain the CRR certification but very scared about changing my writing. Can I ask you if that's something you had to do, that is, change your writing completely or was your theory based on realtime writing? Any tips will be helpful :)
A warm welcome from CSRnation, thanks for joining.
please join the Court Reporting student group to your right.
just click "Court Reporting students" and "Join Court Reporting student"
We are into our 1st month, give it some time, it should get very exciting around here.
Just a heads up. if you look at the top of your page to the left, you will see a person icon and a mail icon, click on the little guy and add me to your friends list (assuming you would want to, lol).
also, you can send private messages if ever need be.
you can add pictures, music and videos to your page.
if you have any questions please let me know.
