I had one last night where I was to be taking down court testimony. I was racing to set up. I barely got set up, but I was hooked up to some kind of computer monitor and it was really loud. It had all kinds of crazy graphics going and sounds, I could not mute the darn thing. It was loud and disruptive. I was all hooked up and ready to go and I was telling the judge, just a minute, I've just got to get the sound turned off. Then the judge is it's okay, we've got another reporter. I felt horrible.

How come our reporter dreams are never good? Has anyone ever had a dream where they're just taking down everything effortlessly and everything is going smoothly. I would love to have a nice pleasant dream like that. I guess they're not as fun to share. But really!!

I had a court reporter nightmare last night.  I was in federal court with my former judge.  It was a technical case, and the witness spoke so fast that I couldn't even get down a full sentence.  I asked him to slow down.  He refused to slow down and starting telling me I shouldn't be there if I couldn't do my job.  I started arguing with the witness.  Then my judge told me I don't have to come back to the court again.  Then I proceeded to ask the witness to step outside.   I think menopause is affecting my mind and my sleep.

I should edit that last statement to say I can't look at her without thinking of that dream, not that I think she's a killer....it's just weird vibes now that I can't shake.

I had one recently that was kind of disturbing....I'm actually hesitant to post it because I'm afraid someone might say that I'm in need of some real professional help...lol.

As a way of background, I'll explain that for the past four years, I've covered meetings for my city where the top financial directors meet and discuss sensitive financial documents that are about to be released to the public, i.e., rating agencies, bond markets, etc. etc, to make sure they're in tip-top shape and don't contain any inaccuracies or are misleading or what have you. There can be up to 25 people attending these meetings, and sometimes there will be about 15 people calling in, and sometimes they're calling in while they're driving or at the airport or their baby is screaming in the room or the phone cuts out....that's a nightmare in itself. who needs dreams, right?

Anyway, my dream has that there is a terrorist who has infiltrated our city and is killing off the top city officials, the mayor, city council members, the CFO. In my dream, the whole city is pretty much on lockdown because nobody knows who this psycho-killer is. I even go to the crime scenes in my dream and see the mayor sprawled out shot.

Then I dream that I find out that the terrorist is the director of Debt Management at our city, who is in reality a very sweet woman. I rush to the meeting where all the other members of this meeting group have gathered. I come in and almost out of breath say, "I know who the killer is!" and when I tell them the director of debt management, they look at me like I'm crazy, since she's such a sweet woman I'm like really, really, it's her! you've got to believe me!

Then I dream she is coming down the hall and she knows I know that she's the killer. In my dream, I'm resigned to my fate, and I sat down in a chair, and I said, Let it be quick. She comes into the room with a gun pointed straight at me. She pulls the trigger and I can literally see the bullet coming at me in slow motion like a cartoon....and just before it hits my forehead, I wake up and I'm screaming.

I literally was shaking and I couldn't go back to sleep. Freaked me out, and I can't look at her anymore without thinking she's a killer. So please don't tell me I need to be locked up now!

Hey, all! I'm new here!

I have a couple recurring CR nightmares.

One is that I'm in a conference room setting up and attorneys start filing in, one after the other. There get to be like 30 attorneys in the room. I'm running around, trying to get everyone's info, who they represent, etc., trying to set up speaker designations for everyone, wondering how I'm going to keep everyone straight on the record. It's past the start time and everyone is getting irritated with me because I'm taking so long getting everyone's info. Still, more and more attorneys keep coming in. Finally, someone makes the comment that there are too many people for the size of the conference room and suggests we all go down to the "auditorium." When we get there, it's literally an auditorium, with probably around 500 seats and a stage. The seats are filling up with hundreds of attorneys.

The other one I have is that the witness is talking but I can't hear or understand what they're saying. Usually they are mumbling, like that clip we all have seen of that video dep where you can't understand one word the woman says. I keep asking the witness to repeat but still can't understand them.
