Well, I guess we're going to have Christmas lights on our house this year. I'm very excited. The last two years, I was in charge of hiring somebody to come out and put Christmas lights on our house. Both times they flaked. Two different years, two different companies.

When I grew up, we were not the type of family to have Christmas lights on our house. So I am very excited.

This year, my husband was in charge. He actually got people to our house and they took measurements and gave us an estimate. Whoo-hoo.

I'm in charge of putting up the lights and I do it myself. Starting tomorrow early.

And for those in the SF Valley, Candy Cane Lane is awesome! Bumper to bumper traffic, but it's amazing!

For those southern OC people, if you haven't already done it, make sure you go check out the whole block off of Rancho Santa Margarita Pkway and Melinda. I forget exactly where it is, but when they have all of the different listings of places to go looking at lights, it will be easy to find....or just drive up Melinda and follow the cars. It is soo incredible. The whole street and culdesac goes in together. There is music, snow, and the house at the end of the culdesac is the grande poopa, ha.

We don't have to pay anyone to do almost anything around here. My husband can do almost anything. He is putting up crown molding right now. It sure saves a lot of money! He even put our roof on himself.

Oh, I think outs is just being done by some college kids. But still it's nice to have it done. And they're going to put them up and take them down. Talk about Christmas Joy!! It's the simple things.
