I am new to CSR Nation, have been accepting jobs and working for different folks.  Have you ever had that gut feeling that you won't get paid for that $1500 job you just labored over and turned in?  What recourse do reporters have, short of small claims court, to make sure they are paid for their hard work from the agencies they help out through CSR Nation?  How can I find out what agencies are ethical and which are not?  Yelp, maybe? Just putting it out there to have an open dialogue with those who are willing to share :)

You did the work. They owe you money.

I'm not sure why these situations exist in this industry. If you didn't pay your electric bill, the electric company would send your account to a collections agency.  I can't imagine buying groceries then telling the store manager, "I'll pay you when I feel like it" as I walk out the door with my hands full. Or how about dinning at a restaurant then telling them you'll pay them in six months?

Possible ideas are:

  • Send the next job COD and bill for both jobs.
  • Small claims court
  • Collections agency (they will of course take a cut)

There are other options I can't think of right now. It just bothers me when hard working people don't get paid or have to work just as hard to collect what they're owed.

Good luck. I hope it goes well for you.

Ask your question about the agency and then leave your email address so if anyone has any negative comments, they can email you privately.  I don't want the negative comments on here.  DCR has already threatened to sue me for just that issue.

Hi, Joyce,

There is a group on here called "Have you ever heard of..."  You can join that group.  You can ask questions of other reporters about their experience with firms.  Usually people post the name of the firm and ask other reporters to email them privately with their experience.
