I'm a new reporter. I passed the October 2011 exam. I've done Office of Administrative Hearings for the past couple of months (heard it was slow in the depo world). I just started with an agency and have only received one depo a week. I know things are starting to pick up out there, and I was hoping someone could recommend some trustworthy agencies that could use help and wouldn't mind bringing on a new reporter. Any recommendations would be very much appreciated!!

Hi, Shanna!

I'm glad things are going well -- AND that you came here to CSR Nation and got some good advice on agencies in your area!  Not sure why I didn't think of telling you to come here in the first place ... sorry about that!

That's what I was hoping, too, Patricia! But I am with an agency now, (only got two depos in two weeks, though) and the two depos they sent me out on were doctor depos for workers' comp. The first one was not bad at all. The second one had an attorney with an Indian accent with an attitude. Very different than the hearings!! LOL

After doing those hearings, a lot of depo work will probably seem easy to you!!

Thanks for your suggestions, ladies. I've been added to the overflow of a few of these agencies and hopefully a couple more will call me back. Can't wait to be busy!

I just did my first job for Maxine Weinberg, and I was really happy with how quickly they paid me. When I was a new reporter, I worked for a firm that took 6 weeks to pay.  They were great but I remember waiting forever for that first check.

Thanks for the firm names, ladies! I just checked out Ecoscribe. They have a "rewards program" for depos. I wish they didn't have that or I would certainly call! I'll try the others. Thanks again!

I have personal knowledge of this firm, but there's an ad on CCRA's Web site from EcoSribe. They say they have daily workers' comp jobs in LA and the surrounding areas.  Workers' comp is good to start out on as a new reporter.

Oh, yes, I forgot about Hahn and Bowersock.  They are a great firm.

Maxene Weinberg Agency (I worked for them for 10 years in So Cal) and Hahn & Bowersock.  Both great firms.
