Hi, Melissa,
I use a regular small-size spiral notebook. I write the name of the witness, the date and the day of the week at the top. This is something I do at the depo. I also write any spellings I get for that particular witness in there. I keep my stickers in there too. I have a dedicated office at home. I have a specific place for my exhibits. You DON'T want to lose those.
Good luck. Congrats on becoming a reporter. It's a great job.

The first thing I did seven years ago was buy a Depo Book from depobook.com. I am able to put all of the lawyers cards in there, the caption, spellings, everything you'll need later to edit the job. It's never let me down and I can look back years later at a case or even just for a volume two a month later. Really helped me get started.

You might also want to take a look at the REALLY HARD TIME BEING A NEW REPORTER thread when you get a chance.

Good luck to you ... and (of course!) CONGRATS on finishing school and entering the field!
