What's the furthest you've driven?

Well, times are slow for some of us and gas is high. Although it has come down a little bit. Just a smidge.

But what's the furthest you've driven for a depo? Timewise? Mileagewise?

I used to try to keep it around 30 miles, but I think I"ll have to bump it up to 40. Bleh. And that could end up being anywhere from and hour to two hours depending on traffic. Double Bleh.

When I first started, I drove to Palm Springs once for a depo. That was over a hundred miles one way. Not too bad bec. it was against traffic. I try not to do that anymore. I've driven to San Diego which is like over 85 miles away. Fun!!! Not!!!

What's the furthest you've driven for the shortest depo you've ever had?

When I lived in Los Angeles, I had a few jobs in Santa Maria (long drive... can't remember the hours/time/mileage). I took a 3-day arbitration at the Santa Maria Inn, and I also did a couple weeks of work in San Luis Obispo -- stayed in Morro Bay. Beautiful drive -- I'd do it again in a heartbeat! I'd be driving from San Diego now, so add two more hours to that commute.

I've done 160 miles in one day to visit one of my CAT training clients -- actually, I have done that trip twice so far. I guess my summer vacation to Virginia Beach is a pretty long one, too. I've done Staten Island to Albany which is about 300 miles in one day.

The farthest I have driven is from San Clemente to Victorville. Yuck! But it was a two-day job held at a Best Western right off the freeway. So I booked a room for the night and took both days. It wasn't bad, but I definitely wouldn't want to do that drive again. I've also gone to Indio, which is in the 3 1/2 to 4 hour range, if I remember correctly. I also have driven from San Clemente to Encino and Woodland Hills on occasion. I do occasional Valley stuff when my office is desperate, and I charge for mileage and a higher page rate, and then I stay with my inlaws. I drive to L.A., San Diego, and Riverside all the time. From time to time I will pretty much go anywhere, and I usually save my office's butt in doing so. In return, when really good stuff comes on calendar, I am the first one called. And if I can't or don't want to drive to one of those far depos, I don't. But the fact that I will, I get rewarded in the long run. Works for me!

The farthest I generally go is to the coast, about 100 miles, 2.5 hrs. More often than not, I ride along when I go there. Generally, I am with 10-20mins of my jobs. Occasionally I go to Salem, an hour away, or Hillsboro, 45 mins.

Gas has come down more than a smidge here. We're down more than $2/gal from the highest I paid.

Yeah, perhaps, she did. I saw her on the Stenocat32 group page, but her profile says Eclipse, so I asked her that in the email.
Regarding the sentence...I would not use quotes because it doesn't sound like a direct quote. When he says "You said something like" that's not a direct quote. But what is that --what? in there? Was it an interuption? But I think I would leave it as you have it, with capping the "P" but no quotes.
So now.......let's get back to the furthest we've driven =)~ I'm going to say timewise, 2 1/2 hours one way, and that was to west LA, which I won't normally do, but the agency I do a lot of work with begged me to go cause it was a new client and they love me =) so I did, and it ended up being a great job too, 170 pages, 0-3 with two roughs...

I thought Marla went to Eclipse.

Mary (or anyone else),

Since I've got your ear, how would you punctuate the following sentence:

You said something like, Please leave her alone -- what? -- she doesn't want to dance with you? Or what did you say?

Would you use quotes anywhere?

It is a girl. And thanks =)
He hasn't paid you? Sheesh!!! I have a few of those too.
I actually just e-mailed Marla to see if she may need help with scoping later on for a bit after January. She actually turned me on to a reporter that lives in LA who has been covering my LA stuff when I can't.

FOUR weeks? Eegads. It's a girl, right? I'm so excited for you!!

I remember the job you took for me, GB, He still hasn't paid me.

My first kid was situated so that my whole right hand went numb. I was in a panick. I was trying to tell my doc, We need to do something!! He couldn't have cared less. His take on it was I'll get the feeling back when she pops out. Hmm. Great doc, but NO bedside manners. She was born about 5 pm by C-section. He comes into my room the next morning and says, "Put on some makeup." Nice, Doc. My oldest just turned 21! She e-mailed me the next day and says, "So guess who threw up last night?" She's not much of a partygirl.

You should see if Marla's available for your LA jobs. She puts out a REALLY nice product. I'm sure you'd be pleased with her work.
