Hi Jenny,

I was on the Stenovations page but do not see the price of a new Lightspeed. Do you happen to know? Also I use Case Catalyst right now, but I'm guessing LightSpeed uses a different software?

Thanks,
Chris

Yeah, that link doesn't work any more! Here's a paste of it. I went to classifieds - home and did a search:

I have two LightSpeed writers and I am offering for sale a lovingly-cared-for white writer that I have used as a spare writer. It has the leather Depobook keypads. I am willing to negotiate a fair price.

If you're interested, email me for more details.

Thanks for the birthday wishes! I've never worked so hard on my birthday, that's for sure. Got 250 pages reported, and then drove home in the dark and produced the rough draft - two more hours of work!

My husband saved me some ice cream, though - the last bit - so that made it a great day!

160 can be a tricky place to be. Keep chugging along. It's so nice to hear you're enjoying the LS!

Susan, are you still happy with your LS? Do you know anyone who wants one of the original ones? They're coming out with this overlay deal pretty soon. Anyway, there's one for sale now, and it's in perfect, perfect shape:

Yes, it was mine. Tina got it as a backup, but doesn't feel she needs it now. We want it to go to a good home!

Hope school is going great for you. One of these days, I'll have to yak it up over there. I've been so busy!!! And now I'm an authorized Eclipse trainer. If you know of a student with Eclipse questions, send them over to my page!

Hi Susan - I happened to come across your thread because I am researching which school I should go to. Right now my choices are Downey, Cerritos and Cypress. You mentioned that you went to Cerritos and now attend Downey. Can you tell me which you like better and why? Which Theory is taught at Downey and which at Cerritos? Which Theory do you like best and why? Thanks so much for any insight you can give me.

Pretty good. Had a stressful couple of days due to work but other than that pretty relaxed. I have just enough work right now to keep me busy but not so much I can't take advantage of the break and clean ;) Are you getting around on your bike much?

Oh, BOIT (by the way), that was my only plateau, 160. I remember getting so frustrated. I took a day and sat in with a reporter in court, and it got me so jazzed to go back to school and get over the hump. I really think it helped a lot.

I really do love it on this side. :)

You probably would find the Magnum Steno Club very helpful. The dictation probably is waaaaay out of reach for you, as it is for most of us, BUT it has a great brief section and Mark's speed-building philosophy, etc., that will probably give you the boost you're looking for.

You can try it for a day or two free, BUT I really feel you should sign up for a month for $29.95, I think it is, and study the brief sections, Mark's speedbuilding 1, 2, 3, and 4, and then give the dictation a shot. After you spend some time at it, I think 160 will probably feel a whole lot easier than it has been for you.

I really feel it's one of the best things going for students at your speed and above.

I think it's at magnumsteno.com, but I'm on my weekend brain, and it isn't working right now. HA!

Good luck and keep me posted!
