Does anyone know if we can use our software (I have CC) on an Apple?

Yes, it can be done.  I was at a DRA seminar a few months ago in an Eclipse seminar and the girl in front of me was using an Apple Computer with Eclipse software.   You have to get some sort of software for it, though.  I forget what she told me she had to do to get it to work.  Your tech support for CC will know what you need to do, though, for sure.

CaseCATalyst will work on a Mac.  Stenograph recommends that you use the CC software via Bootcamp, which is a program that comes on the Mac that partitions the hard drive.  You then load Windows to that side of the partition, and your Mac stuff is on the other side of the partition.  You can also buy Parallels and load Windows through that and then load CC, which keeps you from having to switch sides back and forth from Windows to Mac, but Stenograph doesn't recommend it and may not help you if you get stuck in something.  I run mine through Parallels and have had no issues with it.  However, if I do a realtime job, I do run it through Bootcamp because if something happens on a RT job and I need help, I want to be able to get it.

Thank you both for responding!  I've had my PC for four years now.  (I know, ancient.)  My son has had his Mac PC for three years, and has not had any issues whatsoever.  It's just the learning curve.....but I know PC users who switch to Macs say they will never go back.  Think I'll take the plunge.  Thanks again.

Ruth, let us know how it goes.  Maybe others will follow suit.

I just purchased an Apple Macbook Air, last week, and I have to tell you that I love it.  I had a few technical problems with setting up boot camp and I called Apple, they gave great support.  Then it was 1, 2, 3, no problems.  I run CC and I do realtime writing.

That's great news, Karen.  Are you new to Mac?  I guess the main concern is the time it will take to get up and running, and, yes, I have concerns about glitches with realtime.

I am new to Mac, and there were a couple of "glitches"  I'd be more than happy to help and ward off some of those.

I did run a realtime test where I connected to another computer and it went off without a hitch.

I do use a hub, and that did cause the aformentioned glitch, but once it got "corrected" or "fixed" it seems that it is fixed and hopefully won't rear its ugly head again

there are a couple of differences in scoping but after about a week, not to bad, not much of a slow-down
