Hi All -

I'm just curious on what others are doing/thinking on carrying Workers' Comp insurance as independent contractors, and would that be in addition to disability insurance coverage?

I didn't think you could get Workers' Comp on yourself, but I could be wrong.   You could purchase a disability policy from an insurance company.

No WC coverage but I have disability coverage that I've had for 20 years.  Practically useless, though, because it will only cover about 2,000 a month and that barely pays for our car payments.  Guess it depends where you live.

Thanks Kelli and Martha for your input. I, too, have had disability insurance for 20 years, Kelli, and I agree it's practically useless.

My inquiry was prompted by an agency call I received saying that their insurance carrier was asking if I had Workers' Comp, which I thought was curious unto itself considering the independent contractor status.

Thanks again. Everyone have a great 4th of July!!!

You too, Karla!!
