Questions for Texas Freelancers

I was a freelance reporter in Houston for quite a few years and quit 10 years ago after having my first child. I have recently been recertified and my original goal was to keep training and eventually do captioning or CART, but I am thinking that doing freelancing and working on realtime might be a better path to those goals.
