Hi All,

For those of you who used microcassettes in your small tape recorders, it has been a dire situation to try and purchase 90 minute tapes.

You are going to find it real tough to even find those micro cassettes because the manufacturers have stopped manufacturing them.

I found one place on all the internet where I could obtain 90 minute micro cassettes, and the price is $47.50 for 10 tapes or $4.75 per tape.

Also the 60 minute micro cassette tapes are just about impossible to find even on the internet.

I received the below e-mail from the supplier I found.

‘Micro Cassettes are no longer being made by Maxell, among others, and are now in very short supply.

‘If you're interested in purchasing these Polaroid MC-60s, at $2.49 each tape ($24.90 per 10-pack), please click here:

‘There is a limit of only 2 ten-packs per customer. But we are getting a large supply in in mid September so we can backorder the balance if you choose to order more than 2 ten-packs.”

If anybody has any knowledge on better deals on microcasette tapes than the above deals, that information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Linda,

Please contact me at williamparsons2@yahoo.com with the prices you are asking on the 90 minute cassette tapes.   I am interested.

Thanks Bill

Bill, I stopped on the way home and got the Dragon.  It was less about thirty minutes from sit down, install, do test program, and try it.  It's incredible.

I  got Dragon Basic - $42.00.  I already have a transcript format, complete with Q and A.  Just have to speak. I have a 40-page transcript to do (which I have recorded.  I will let you know how it goes.

Hi Mary Jo,

Looking forward to hearing how the Dragon Basic project goes.  That's amazing you can get it for only $42.00.

Bill

I did my first transcript, 30 pages.  I did the voice transcript listening to the tape.  My transcript came out pretty good.  HOWEVER, on the second listening to the recorded audio, I missed small words here and there.  I filled it in and cleaned up with regular typing.   It was a little slow, but it was the first time I used the software and the first time the software used me. I am expecting it to get faster.  My suggestion is to listen to your recorded audio, first 30 minutes of it. Then go back and start fresh with the Dragon. On my next transcript that is what I am going to do. If I can get out 20 pages an hour, I will be content.

One of the voice writers has ProCat software, which she says cost $6,000.  Yesterday at lunch she also uses Dragon Professional to make her ProCat work.  I think she squandered $6,000.
