I got a call this week from Esquire to take a depo, but it wasn't anywhere near where I live, so I couldn't anyway, but I asked the guy, very boldly, if Esquire was still not paying their court reporters.  He replied, w/a smirk in his voice, that he didn't know anything about billing, that he was in scheduling, and then we hung up.

So my question is, I thought Esquire was no longer and had become Discovery or something like that, so I'm curious about this.  Does anyone know?

I Googled and saw Discovery Litigation Services.

I also see Esquire Solutions.

There is an Esquire in San Francisco.  They were bought by another company (distressed sale I think) but they are paying reporters the last I heard.

Esquire got an infusion of capital from some investment company.  After they got the infusion, Alexander Gallo left and started his own company called Discovery Litigation.

I took a job for them out of Los Angeles this year and got paid.

So was Gallo the bad guy in the Esquire debacle?   And, does Discovery pay reporters?
