On Courtreportersite.com I posted about my next-door neighbor and her creative use of paint.  I said I would post a picture and I'm just now getting around to it.  Her house is now tan with some spaces that are white.  And she has fire engine red trim.  I think it's really ugly.  What do you think?

Can't give an opinion.  Need a larger picture.

I don't think that's bad at all.

I noticed my neighbor's house the other day (I really try not to look, it's kind of like viewing an accident scene) and noticed he had his trash can (the big ones that are lifted mechanically by the trash trucks, but not a Dumpster) on his front porch.  I thought for a second and figured he couldn't put it on the side of his house because that would interfer with the beer cans and bottles that he's collecting.

And now I'll tell you about the issue that literally made me hate the guy instead of just feel sorry for him.  My daughter comes home and calls me from her cell.  There was a mangey dog in the middle of the street that looked like it had been hit by a car and she was afraid to get out of her car.  Of course, Judy to the rescue of any animal, I go out to see if I can help.  By the time I get out there, there are two other neighbors.  Everybody's looking for the dog.  People saw it go "that" direction, but it's disappeared.  Hmm.  Well, "that" direction is towards Chuck's house, and believe me when I say if a dog wants to disappear, that's where they'd hide.  Everybody says, ohhhhhh, I wouldn't go in "that" yard, are you crazy?  So, yup, I go in "that" yard to look for the dog.  And of course I found it hiding among the beer cans.  So I get the dog to come out and everybody's starting to get r.e.a.l.l.y angry at what we see.  It's a horribly malnourished medium-sized dog.  And it's not just anybody's dog, it's Chuck's dog.  Chuck's car is there, but he's not coming out, even with all of the screaming going on.  And let me tell you, the other neighbor that looked like he belonged to the Arian Brotherhood was screaming the loudest.  Very scary individual (Chuck's probably very lucky he hid in the house).  The "roommate" finally comes out and she's either drunk or stoned (or both) and confirms it is Chuck's dog.  The Arian Brotherhood guy called the police and before you knew it we had a helicopter overhead and a few black and whites on our street.  Chuck had this roomate believing that he tried to feed it, and he does feed it, but it just doesn't get fat!  Yeah, same story I heard when I decided to start feeding his cat when we first moved in (the cat was finally killed by an off-the-leash dog and died under his truck that he can't start.  He took him !days! to retrieve that cat, because of course he can't just move the truck and pick up the cat, had to actually get on his belly and get the cat).  I guess his ability to buy a few beers every day is more important than feeding his animals.

So I'll trade you Chuck for your house with three colors.

Okay.  I'll try again as soon as I can.

I really don't think the fire-engine red trim goes with tan.  Sorry, I don't get it.

Her color choice before was white house with purple (K-State purple, which is deep purple) trim.  She does keep her property up perfectly and no starving pets.

Do you have a zoom lens, Janiece?  My eyes are going, too.

Did they take the dog from Chuck, Judy?   He sounds like a real winner.

The dog was put down the next day.  I'm not an advocate for euthanizing healty animals, but this was not a healthy animal.  He had no use of his back legs so had to drag himself.  I've seen pictures of dogs that malnourised, but never had to witness it.  It was disgusting.

Preliminarily I think the red trim is great.  Don't understand the white plus beige (maybe it's not finished?) but red goes with either color in my opinion.  Let's see more than a thumbnail for a true opinionated opinion!

It's amazing how much that looks like my first house --  not the color, but the style and the slope of the road and even the tree.

Mine was on a nice side street, but right at the bottom of the hill was a four-lane road.  Every time there was snow and/or ice, I felt like I was taking my life in my hands, hoping that I'd be able to stop and not slide out onto the four-lane road.

Aw, it's not so bad.  You should see mine!  I picked out a beautiful green of a certain brand of paint.  The painter wanted to use a different brand, so my husband "matched" it up.  I cried for half an hour when I first saw it!  That was two and a half years ago.

Never trust a man to "match" a color! :)

That's pretty tame to some of the homes I've seen.  I went for a walk with the hubby today and one house we walked by was super bright blue, don't even know what to call it, but seriously an eye sore.  This house above is seriously tame, believe me.  I should start posting homes that are an eye sore with paint for you to see some seriously bad color jobs.  Sort of funny.

My house is bright yellow with red trim and some might find that offensive so you never know.

From what I can see, I don't think it looks bad.  But if it were my house, I would be creeped out by someone posting it on a site for all to see.  Not that strangers can't drive down the street and look at it, but it would still make me feel funny.  Once we complained about our neighbors' barking dogs, and they (neighbors, not the dogs -- lol) started taping my son riding his bike on our driveway (trying to show him antagonizing the dogs).  I didn't like it at all.
