All right. Who's going to be the guinea pig?

I must be getting old and feeling a bit of technoshock. Not looking forward to upgrading to Windows 7.

Is anyone going to jump on that bandwagon? Heard anything good or bad from the different software companies regarding Windows 7?

Everything is working so nicely now. But time marches on and more memory and better sound and faster speed is always good, I suppose.

Do you think eclipse, stenograph.. etc have released updates for W7?
It comes down to that... they normally wait 7 years before they release the upgrade, ha!

When I get a new computer, be it desktop or laptop, only then will I get what my computer guy tells me get. Switch with current machines? No way!!
well, the good news is that W7 is built on the same foundation that of XP.
I think it should work fine... maybe I should be the first to test it on Eclipse?
I believe there is a link over on CRF in the Eclipse folder and a poll in the hardware folder on this. May be a little more info for those of you wondering....
That is excellent news. I love XP. When I got a new Dell laptop, I made sure they loaded XP on it, instead of Vista.

One of the "new" features of Windows 7 that I liked was being able to click and split screens evenly. In other words, instead of putting your cursor on the edge of a window and dragging it to make the screen smaller or bigger, you just click. You can have four screens evenly spaced on your screen with a click of the mouse, looking like four Bingo cards. I work with several applications simultaneously, and this would be nice for me.

They were selling HP netbooks on QVC last night with Windows 7 on them for $449. I was tempted.
On my (cheap and sleazy) website is this snippet:

"I haven't done any serious research on this as yet, but I've heard one tech at Stenovations say there is no problems with Windows 7, but another tech says there are problems with Windows 7 and the LightSpeed's GUI -- which, as I'm sure you all know by now, "Graphical User Interface" ... which is easily remembered by the phrase, 'If it's GUI enough for you, it's GUI enough for me.'"

Chances are good all the CATs will work with Windows 7 ... BUT what about your peripherals? Your Serial-USB adapter?

It is for that reason, I recommended to my readers to read and heed Tech Commandment Numba Three:

"Thou Shalt Not Adopt Early, or Install Version 1.0."

Happy "Hasta la Vista Thursday!"
