HELP! Has anyone had this happen. I'm a student in qualifiers with my professional version of Case Catalyst. I was in the middle of editing a qualifier and suddenly this screen pops up that says "exception 3 error occurred" and BAM everything disappears!

I'm just learning my software, so I'm searching all over and trying to figure out what the heck is going on. Of course, I'm also on the clock to type this qualifier and I'm panicky about now. Long story short, I ran out of time to type and I still haven't figured out what happened.

Did I inadvertantly push a key that set this off? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I hate to call Stenograph about this because the last tech support person I spoke with about a different concern was menopausal. Guess I'll have to bite the bullet and make that call.

It's a glitch that happens here and there with apparently little to no reason that anyone can ever figure out. Just open your program back up, open the saved file, and you're good to go. Well, as good to go as you can be. :)
I have had it happen too. Calling tech really won't be able to tell you why it happens. Like Christi said, it's a glitch.
Thanks everyone! I feel a better now. I do have the latest version. I know the best time to become familiar with my software is while I'm still in school, but I will admit, every now and then I would like to just take my paper notes and type in a word document! ; )
Jeanese, I feel the same way..."Once bitten, twice shy." I would be mortified if it happened to me while on a job!
Alice, make sure that when you speak to the tech person at Stenograph that you also send him/her the Support Info files which are located in the System Files case. This will contain information on the Exception 3 error that occurred. This way Stenograph can diagnose what the problem is by looking at the code that's contained in that file. The email address to do that is support@stenograph.com.
Thanks for the advice!
Hi Alexis: It's been a while since I've had an Exception 3 error. Do you have tech support? that wasn't clear on your message. I know there is information online about exception 3 errors which I'd suggest you look up. I know when this happened to me years ago, tech support would want to know when they occurred, like what you were doing when it happened. Of course, none of us can remember exactly what we were doing. Most likely it was when you did a small series of commands that set it off, and it does crash but if you were in the middle of editing, then hopefully it auto saved your file.

I hope you can take your qualifier again. You deserve it since you're experiencing the boot camp of getting used to your software. Let me know. Shirley RPR, CSR
Thanks for your input. I'll keep you posted on my qualifiers.
