Listening to live audio through your laptop headphone jack -- Windows Vista

Hello, I have a new laptop with Vista on it. With my old laptop loaded with XP, while writing realtime in CC, I was able to listen to live audio just using my Martel mic and listening through my headphones plugged into my computer, just like the Mira A3. I have the G2 unfortunately without the audio capabilities. Does anyone know how to set this up to work in Vista, or is it only possible in XP? Please help!! Thanks!

I would love to know how to do this too.
I just use the Radio Shack amplifier as my mic AND listening unit. I also have a jack that I can offer hard of hearing witnesses. Atty's seem to like that when I explain it. ;) Got this from the Compuserve forum and just LOVE it!! I have helped many a CR when I explain this to them. I wish I could remember who posted it over there, lol, to give them credit!
