Yvette, she would have to purchase the dictionary from Stenograph. Ensure that she tells them she needs the .rtf version, else they'll send her the version for Case Catalyst.

Phoenix isn't there, sorry!

If you go to stenovations.com they have a list of dictionaries you can upload. It's under, um, Support then once on the support page click on downloads. They have Stened, Marsh, and some others you can look and see if they have the one you need.

Hi, Yvette! Did she ask Stenovations for the dictionary? I recall when I initially had the full version of the software they supplied me with several different dictionaries. I'm not sure if what I have (or had) would work for her.

Thank you Glen.

Rumor has it that Stenovations has some sort of audio program that will convert it ... and the price for the rumored software is $50.

In the meantime, why not just play the audio through digitalCAT, record it with Audacity, and export it as an .mp3 to play through Express Scribe?

Thanks Becky! The reporter has sent it as a DM, but thank you for answering.

Frankly, I don't think there is any way to do that. I could be wrong, but don't think so. The DM file is proprietary and I think exclusive to DigitalCAT. I don't think there is a conversion package around that would convert it to a DiigtalCAT file. It has to be recorded within the software to be played by the software.

Does anyone know if there is an easy way to convert a WMA to a DM so I can use the audio sync on a practice file I was sent? I'm looking but if anyone knows offhand... :-)

About the P-P issue again ... it's working!

I had to resort to using the Delete Space command -- specifically, "Delete First Space" -- and then I had to modify how I stroked those funny words that should be one word vice two, like "blackhawk."

Before, I would stroke black (PBHRA-BG) the P-P stroke, and then hawk (HAUBG).

Now I have to do black (PBHRA-BG), hawk (HAUBG), and THEN the P-P stroke.

Tough to get used to ... but I'm happy I don't have to manually go back and fix stuff!
