IF THERE WERE EVER A REASON FOR COURT REPORTERS TO BE A MEMBER OF THIS
ASSOCIATION, READ THE BELOW LISTED ARTICLE FROM A NEWSPAPER REPORTER FROM THE
DAILY TIMES.

THIS PERSON'S LACK OF KNOWLEDGE OF OUR PROFESSION IS A PRIME EXAMPLE OF WHY IT
IS SO IMPORTANT FOR COURT REPORTERS TO BE MEMBERS OF NYSCRA AND OTHER
ASSOCIATIONS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY.

WE NEED TO CONTINUE TO FIGHT AGAINST THIS TYPE OF IGNORANCE.

In the 132 years since Thomas Edison invented the phonograph, most Americans
have gotten pretty comfortable with audio recording. They love their iPods and
books on tape and could scarcely survive without voice mail.

You're right Anthony. (or your write, or your right, or you're wright) In fact the NYSCRA had a seminar on this last year. The legal record is no place for You Tube quality recordings and shoddy vagueness. When it's all on the line, lawyers and their clients want accuracy, quality and professionalism. Organizations such as NYSCRA, NCRA, et al. set and promote standards to ensure the most accurate record.
