My name is Emily Warrick.  I am an experienced scopist and proofreader available for work immediately.   I utilize Digital Cat, Eclipse, and Case Catalyst software and can proof using errata sheets, as well.  I have been scoping since 2005 and was reporter-trained.  I scope word-for-word with audio. 

I have been proofreading for many, many years in my “retired” profession as a paralegal and for approximately eleven years for court reporters. 

Prior to scoping and proofreading, I was a paralegal and legal secretary for 15 years, with experience in all facets of the legal field.  As a former paralegal, I have a strong grasp of legal terminology and have no qualms researching those words or areas that need to be researched.  

I have scoped depositions, EUOs, arbitrations, official transcripts such as prelims, voir dire, and trials and subjects such as asbestos litigation, tobacco litigation, securities litigation, medical malpractice, etc.  Last year, I also scoped daily the Texas Senate proceedings.  This year I scope and proofread the United States Supreme Court proceedings.  No job is too simple or complex or too small or too big.  

I enjoy my profession because there is always something new to learn.  Every transcript delivers a new adventure to me, and I take pride in my work and strive to do the best job I can.  

I am available for regular turnaround work, videotaped jobs, expedites and dailies and any type of court work. 

I am able to accept sound files via email in .dss format, .wav, .wma, or mp3 formats and will be happy to supply you with access to my file sharing account if you don’t have access to one.
