Accent -- I guess

I have a question that always bugs me whenever it comes up. Took a depo last week and two gang names came up, the Nortenos and the Surenos. Technically, I should put that accent thingy above the "n," but I don't know how to do that in Eclipse. I hit the help button and it was unhelpful. Any suggestions, someone, anyone??

Do you convert to ASCII? If so, don't bother because you'll lose that character; it will be a blank space in the transcript. If you do your own printing, Ctrl-W will bring up Special Characters chart. You'll find it in there.

Hey Brenda, guess what? I went into my job, typed the word Norte, then when you hit ctrl-w it brings up that box. Within that box you can choose an "n" that has that squiggly line over it, and then it will put that "n" next to the "e" and then you type your "o" to finish the word Norteno. I then went and made an ascii to see if the squiggly would be over the "n" in the word Norteno and it was there...awesome. Just thought I would share that little tidbit with you:-)

Oh, cool! From what I understand, it doesn't always translate to the receiver though. Depends on what they are using. I sent something with é in it. Showed up for me just fine, but blank spots for the one who received it. I'd still be careful.

It is not an accent. It is a tilde. These are called "special characters." If you forget these instructions, just look up "special characters" in help.

Put the cursor where you want the special character -- in this case, a lower-case n with a tilde over it -- and then press CTRL-W. A table of special characters will appear. Select the lower-case-n-with-tilde. Then continue typing the rest of the word.
