This book was so incredibly good! I had read Twilight by her and did not read the rest of the series. It was good, but too 'teenish' for my tastes. This one had no boring spots and the storyline was SO creative!

Aliens take over Earth and call themselves 'Souls' and they are worm-like and are inserted into the 'Host' body. This 'host' refuses to fade away. The story is their way thru it all. Dont' want to give too much away. Truly worth the read, I think! Really makes us think what it is to be 'human'. And was very touching to my heart too.

Hey, Rho!

I read Twilight too. It was a preapproval type of thing, since my young daughter received it for her birthday, and I was a little alarmed. Vampire love and all, lol. I enjoyed it overall too, but found it too teenish to continue too. Very well put. :-)

So would you say her characters are more three-dimensional in this one?

And did you happen to read any of the child/YA series, Animorphs? The worm-like creature and host terminology reminds me of that, so I was wondering how it might compare.

Your description of the human aspect seems to go further, though, and is nice to hear.
Lisa,
No. I have not read that series. I thought there was MUCH more depth. But, I also think the HS kids like Twilight as it 'is' a HS setting, lol, and has 'depth' to themselves.

This one is not HS. The character is 17 or 18, but other characters are older. She is also 'older' as she has to take care of her brother and hence grew up. I didn't have that 'teenish' feel to this. Stephenie Meyer also had written this for 'adults'. I think she did good.

I am reading God of Animals right now and it is just not 'capturing' me the way this book did. I hate when a book was SO good and it is hard to find another good read!
