Hello. I am a transcript proofreader. Proofreading has been a part of my life in one form or another as I've tutored students throughout the years. Because of my proofreading focus, my students point out typos or errors they've found in published material. As a detail-oriented person with a tutoring background, proofreading is right up my alley.

I utilize Morson's English Guide for Court Reporters, Bad Grammar/Good Punctuation by Margie Wakeman Wells, The Gregg Reference Manual, Merriam-Webster, as well as various medical/technical resources, to contribute to producing a clean transcript. Court reporter preference is a key piece of working well with someone, and I look forward to working together and being a second set of eyes for court reporters. For more information about my rates or my process, please visit the links listed below.

Have a wonderful day!

Comment by Lona Raye Bigelow on February 8, 2018 at 22:54

I am glad to be part of this group so I can get to know you and assist you in cutting down on your working hours.

I am a Virtual Proofreader of transcripts for Court Reporters. I have been proofreading since my school days living on Long Island, New York, so I have a lot of experience. I am now living with my husband in Sydney, Australia, while visiting my son and his family.

I have an advantage of getting USA court reporter’s transcripts proofread and back to you quicker because of the time difference. If you send your work to me at 5:00 pm, I will have it completed for you when you wake up the next day. That sure gives you a jump on the day to know your work is getting done while you are sleeping. I am here to help you have more time to do what you alone can do. Do what you do best, and let me do the rest! Do the math. Less time correcting = more time court reporting.

Wherever you are living, I would be happy to work with you and polish up your transcript to turn it in quickly and efficiently.

Please contact me for my rates and any other questions you may have. I look forward to hearing from you.

Hello.

I am fairly new to the world of court reporters and transcript proofreading, but I'm eager to get start working with court reporters and other proofreaders.

I don't have experience with any court reporters, but I've gone through Caitlin Pyle's extensive Transcript Proofreading: Theory and Practice course, consisting of over three thousand pages of transcripts. They are real transcripts from actual cases.

I may not have experience with "real" cases, but I've done the work of someone who has. If you are interested in woking with me, please contact me at mattvillegasproofreader@gmail.com or visit my site at mattvillegasproofreader.com.

Thank you.

I previously proofread for a major bank, where I reviewed accounts opened or modified. While employed, I received several awards, including the L.I.V.E. award, an award to recognize excellence in innovation, whose recipient is elected annually by vote by the entire global team. I also received two promotions in less than two years of employment. A few years ago, I made the difficult decision to leave the bank. I was starting a family, and I wanted to make my own schedule so that I could be with my kids as much as possible. I am now self-employed as a proofreader, and I'm LOVING IT! I've proofed thousands of transcript pages, and I've had some fantastic feedback from those I've worked with. I provide a fast turnaround at competitive rates. I've recently decided to pick up a few more clients and dedicate more hours a week to proofreading; I'm offering a promo for new clients that ends on January 31st. E-mail me to find out more!
