Need a backup proofreader?  Have you been wishing to find a backup and you haven't had time to test any proofreaders?  Now that work has slowed down so much, I have time to do test jobs.  I will do 50 pages free for the first five people responding so you can test my work.  Send me one of your hardest jobs!

I have been proofreading for court reporters as my full-time job since 1998.  I receive an ASCII from you, call it up in MS Word, and make corrections that look like this:  Did you here*/hear/ what I said.*/?/  Corrections are bold and in red.  Then I send back the Word doc to you.

Looking forward to hearing from you!  Email me at

G’day, Mate!!

I am now in Australia for at least 6 months. This is to your advantage because of the time difference.

Send me your pdf transcript to be proofread when you get home from work, and it will be waiting for you to turn in when you wake up the next day.

Email me at for my rates and references upon request. I will polish up your transcripts.

Enjoy your day!

Experienced, no-frills proofreader actively seeking steady work. I prefer .txt files and provide a simple errata sheet with corrections and queries. I maintain running word lists for each case and double-check all names, addresses, and industry terminology for quality assurance. I have a rate sheet, but it is not engraved in stone (much more interested in steady, weekly work), and my current reporter can be contacted as a reference. My availability is immediate. If interested, please email Serious inquiries ONLY. I respond to all inquiries; and when I respond, please acknowledge. I have received numerous inquiries to which I responded with requested information and never received any further follow-up contact.

New year, new you! Are you wasting precious time by scrolling through PDF pages to transfer your proofreader's corrections to your software?  Have you considered using a proofreader who proofreads directly in your software?  I make changes in your transcript with the Track Changes feature turned on. You'll see every change that I make.  Hidden Text is used for communicating, and Scanstops allow you to quickly advance to see my changes. There's only 24 hours in a day. Reclaim some of that time by making that final step of your transcript process a little more efficient. My clients love it, and I think you will too.  For more about me and my process, visit
