Hi Dawn,
this is in response to your comment about purchasing versus leasing a machine when beginning school... Well, my school has a rather hefty fee of $150.00/quarter and you can only rent for the first 2 quarters then you have to buy a machine. So, I went online to a few sites and started pricing machines, I purchased my machine about 3 weeks into school at Acculaw. I just got the student manual machine. It sure took a beating and I still have it in my car as a spare in case I forget my power pack or if a friend needs it for any reason. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is don't invest in a $1500 or up machine until you absolutely have to just in case this career isn't for you. My little manual machine got me through my 140's and now I am working on my 150's. You might also check ebay too for inexpensive manual machines, sometimes you can get a deal. I hope this helps!
Best of luck to you, enjoy theory while you can!!! :)
