Where's my freakin' tax rebate/economy stimulus $/whatever the hell you want to call it?

Has anyone gotten their tax rebate money yet? I certainly haven't. I was planning on spending it on stuff. Now, I'm not sure.

What about you guys? What are you going to do with the money?

Shall I stuff it in my mattress?

It's true; if you make over $75k, you don't get one at all. That is for individuals. I don't know about joint filing. I got the same letter in the mail. Don't know what I've done with the letter either ... since I won't be getting anything either. :(

Hi,

I meant she was born before December 31, 1990 and she needed to be born after December 31, 1990 to qualify.

Hi,

I also got mine last week. We didn't get my oldest daughter as a qualifying child. Eventhough we claim her as a dependant but she had to be born after December 31, 1990. And she was born November 6, 1990.

I made more than 75K myself, but there is also an amount for joint filers. With my husband's income we are under the joint amount; so I am assuming that I will qualify. Then again, I probably shouldn't get my hopes up. With my luck, I'll have read it incorrectly and not qualified.

My mom confused me the other day. She said she was going to use her check to pay taxes. Huh? If you owe them already, why expect a check? Maybe it's just her particular circumstance I'm not getting.

It looks like I qualify, but I don't file electronically; so I think it will be a while before it gets here by snail mail.

Oops!! I spoke to soon. I got it yesterday. Direct deposit.

I think it's $600 per person and $1200 for married couples. And parents will receive an additional $300 per each eligible child.

Adjusted gross income phaseout starts at $75K for single filers and $150k for joint filers.

You must file a tax return to get any money back.

Here's the full info for inquiring minds.

I think I'll stuff mine in my mattress.

When do you get the statement? After you file taxes? I sent mine in on the 13th so it's been a month. Now I'm worried because I haven't got a statement. Just swell.
