GMAIL AND DOWNLOADING FILES FROM IT - HELP!!!

Hi.

Is anyone using Gmail to get jobs from their scopists? I had to sign up for it because my regular email is down. My proofer sent me a job and I clicked on download and in Mozilla it went into the download box and then put it on my desk top. Now I can't figure out how to get it from my desktop into Case Cat. I tried dragging and dropping and it won't let me do it. Am I totally retarded or what??

Help!

Hi, Renee.

I thought I responded to your post a couple days ago, but I guess not! Sorry about that.

That said, please note that I am not an expert on Case Catalyst ... and, in fact, haven't touched it in years ... but if I recall correctly, you have to either import or restore the file for Case Catalyst to open it properly.

Unfortunately (and here's where my non-expertise rears it's ugly head), I can't tell you exactly how to do that ... but if you search Stenograph's Help links, they'll probably tell you. Search for "Restore" or "Import." One of them (I'm guessing Restore) should bring up something.

Good luck ....!

Try browsing to the file on your desktop and opening it from within your CAT software.

Renee, I'd go into My Computer, desktop. right click the file and hit move to folder, then choose C drive, Cat4, user (your name). This should work.

Renee,
Did you figure it out? You just go to CAT and hit the restore button, look for desktop and then choose the file. I tried to respond to your msg earlier but for some reason it didn't take.

What kind of file is it? Is it a zip file?

Hi, Renee,
I use Gmail. You just have to click on the restore button in Cat and then a window will come up and you should be able figure it out from there. If you can't, just email me.

Hi Renee.

Bearing in mind that I am not even CLOSE to being an expert on Case, I think you have to either import or restore the file to make it work.

Unfortunately, I can't tell you much beyond that! You might search Stenograph's Support page for both of those terms.

Good luck!

Simple go to your software (whhat ever software you want to open the file with), on the top left click "File"----> Open File----->a box will pop up------> select the file on your desktop.
that should do it.
