What do you charge for a copy order from the court requesting a transcript?

Hi Everyone!

I need some help.  I just got a Notice to prepare transcript on appeal in the mail today from the court.  I never got one of these before.  It looks like the attorney put in a deposit of $100 already.

But the notice states "the primary reporter must notify counsel/part, transcript services, and the Civil Appeals Unit within 15 days if the amount on deposit for reporter's fees is insufficient."

Okay.  What do I charge for a minimum transcript fee (since it was only 20 pages long)?  Where and how do I contact these people?  Do I just call up the attorney and say hey, I need you to also pay for the cost to bind it?  I'm clueless.

Please someone help.

If you'd like to message me privately, please e-mail me:  Laurai@ymail.com

Thanks!

Yeah, I would think you could check with the court where you took the job as to what the rates are.  I know they are locked and you can't charge whatever you want, unfortunately.

I'm just wondering what the copy page rate would be and/or copy order minimum for court.

hi Kyung, this was superior court and I guess all courts have different rates.  But this was taken in Downtown LA Superior Court House

Superior or Federal?

If it's federal, the rates are on the website.
