Has anybody ever heard of garmen of France or something close to that? My witness said she was invited by the garmen of France to be a scholar and continue her education and research in France.

I might be way off but there is a Garmen Municipality in france that was split in 2 after some war, one remained in France the other became a part of what is known as Belgium today?

thats the only thing I can think off since there is nothing in wikipedia or google about the "garmen of France"
I mean, if its so great to be called by the "garmen of France" it would at least have more search results than my name, ha!
I agree, it sounds good in theory, yet there is really nothing on the Internet acknowledging it. That is helpful to know there is a Garmen Municipality. I didn't know that. Thanks so much.
Could it be Garmin, a GPS manufacturer in France? That's what Google suggests spelled with a "min". Is the witness a techie wiz kid with great potential?
very good suggestion.
I knew about them but couldnt make a connection.
She majored in Geoscience, petrology and uranium. Might not be a match.
This is IMO the best possible match, Geoscience is all about mapping earth!
Using GPS in Geoscience Education
You're right. I'm going to go with Garmin of France. Thanks so much,

Garmin might want her to work in the future on some interesting new products in the research & development stage now.
They do fish finders, navigational devices for aeronautics, etc.
A geoscience major with her other knowledge might be helpful for many applications.

Just guessing.

Sidenote: the company had a team in the Tour de France...
Michelle, just wanted to point out that Melia seems to be a good scopist *wink wink*
That was a good catch!
Further, you would write it as Garmin France .
No need for *of*.

Thanks Monti! I need SOMEone in my corner today.
Thanks so much for your input. I went ahead and sent it out spelled Garmin. She was an Asian woman with a Chinese accent who said "the Garmin of France." So it kind of made it sound like some kind of royalty, but I think it was Garmin, the company. This is what happens when you forget to mark something for a spelling to ask the witness about, lots of time spent figuring out what was meant. Got to be more careful.
I may be way off but could it be the government of France?
