We all get irritated when we see misspellings in advertisements, signs, menus, documents, etc. I thought it would be fun to share pictures or stories about the ones we come across.

Here's one of my favorite ridiculous signs. It's not necessarily a misspelling, but it made me laugh:

It was in the parking lot of the Oregon State Fair.

Hi Janet! Things are slow so I'm reading through some discussions. I dated a Bostonian for a while and I soon noticed that the Rs do balance out in the end!
Craigslist is always fun. For a while I was keeping a list of misspellings I found on there, but it's disappeared. There is always rod iron for sale, as well as I liked the sofa and autumn. I did want to buy the autumn since it was overly hot at the time.
My favorite was a sign during the holiday season, and beside the road there was a truck selling those beautiful red Christmas flowers. The sign read "POINT SETTERS FER SALE."
Sticker for a motorcylce helmet: "Your kid may be an honor student but your a moron." My husband couldn't figure out why I found that so hilarious. Had to explain to him who the moron was.
LOL, LeAnne! I like that one. I guess those who throw stones shouldn't live in glass houses.
My friend posted on facebook that something was "redonculous." I think she was serious. I didn't correct her though. My MIL always uses the term "flustrated." I guess it's a word that described when she's feeling frustrated and flustered at the same time.

Heh ...

My ex-wife used to say flustrated a lot. It took a while, but I did manage to break her of the habit!

Good thing she never saw that "frustrated and flustered" explanation, though ... or she'd probably still be saying it!

There's a speed limit sign for boats in Marina del Rey. It's not a misprinting or anything, but what should, I believe, be an 8 has so much sea gull poop on it that it's become an "e," which is the mathematical constant for the speed of light! (The nerd in me finds that totally rad!)

My other favorite sign is a parking sign on a little-used street just south of Olympic. It says "10 hour parking between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m." I had to pull over and really look at it and do the math. It's unrestricted parking between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m., but in the 10 hours between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., you can only park there for 10 hours...?
No wonder people get so many tickets in LA! These signs can be downright confusing. And by the time you've read the three or four, sometimes even five signs about parking, you've got five cars honking behind you.

Speed of light, oh, that's funny. You are such a nerd, Shanti!
I hate it when I see signs for "Collectables." If you're paying money to have a sign made, make sure it's spelled correctly!!!

I didn't click on this ad. I'm looking for a car, not fabric.
Well, maybe it's just extra shiny? :)
