Can anyone go to the following link http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/8/88/Med_stenotype.jpg and enlarge the LaSalle Stenotype advertisement and send me the enlargement?

My e-mail is williamparsons2@yahoo.com

If I get an enlargement of the ad, I can offer to send it to others who would enjoy this piece of court reporting history.

Also here are links to other LaSalle Stenotype ad:

I believe those ads can be enlarged and purchased.

About five years ago I visited an antiques store in New Jersey, and an old LaSalle stenotype machine was on sale with a fantastic paper brochure telling all about it.

I wanted the paper sales brochure and offered to pay $20 for it , but the store clerk wouldn't sell me the paper brochure without me buying the stenotype machine which was a piece of junk.

I got down the road 60 miles and wanted to return and buy the machine in order to get the sales brochure, but my wife wouldn't hear of it.

The brochure was a fantastic piece of history.

Many people collect paper items, and they have huge paper shows with old documents.

I would like to see all of these old LaSalle Stenotype ads and brochures and would like to see them displayed at a website for all to see and enjoy.

I am very interested because I started my court reporting career with a brand new LaSalle stenotype machine and the LaSalle Stenotype little orange theory book which I probably still have.

Many, many years ago I purchased a LaSalle Stenotype machine in excellent condition, but unfortunately I don't have enough space in my house to display it.

Also I came up a new word for people enthralled with court reporting.  I call those people CRechies, derived from Techies.

When I clicked on the ENLARGE, you will see a background shadow that says FOR REVIEW ONLY.    It is an interesting ad.  My first stenowriter came in the exact same wood box.  It was old.  I was so embarrassed.  But it got me through school.

Hi Mary Jo,

Several years ago I picked up a LaSalle Stenotype stenotype machine and wooden case in mint condition.  Unfortunately I have been keeping it in my grage for many years because my office is so crowded with other things that I don't have room to properly display it.

We had the reel to reel ribbons.

Best Regards, Bill

I would like to thank Quyen very much for sending me as an attachment the enlargement of the LaSalle Stenotype ad.

I did some studying of the enlargement and discovered it cannot be printed with the print coming out clearly because the beautiful on-line LaSalle Stenotype ads are owned by CRIA Images.

To have a beautiful printout of the LaSalle Stenotype ads appears to cost about $30 per ad according to the information at the CRIA Images website.

To view the CRIA Images price list go to http://www.criaimages.com/pricing.aspx

Even if we can't afford to pay for the beautiful old LaSalle Stenotype ads, we can still appreciate the drawings and large print portions of the ads at the webpages listed in my first post.

Again many thanks to Quyen for helping to solve the mystery of how to get good quality printouts of the LaSalle Stenotype ads.  We have learned the images cost about $30 each.

Best Regards, Bill

If anyone would like a copy of the enlargement Quyen made, I can send it to you as an attachment.

You will be able to really enjoy the upper part of the ad,

The smaller printed portions of the ad will be blurred, but you will be able to view and enjoy the large items in the ad.

People can view the enlargement and decide if they want to order a non-blurred copy from CRIA Images.

Send requests for Quyen's enlargement to williamparsons2@yahoo.com

Best Regards,
Bill
