Has anybody ever send files to a scopist using Dropbox, but yet the scopist says they can't see it on their end?

I have a separate DB folder for Scopist X.  I've sent her one other job using this folder, so I know she's joined it and has access to it.  But, yet, the last set of files I've sent her, she says they're not there.  I dragged them in on Saturday, so it's not the usual lag of large files.  I went to another computer in my office, opened Dropbox, clicked on her file, and they're there, so I'm pretty sure it's not something on my end.  Any suggestions?

I use the paid version.  When using the free "limited" program, I had my computer freeze on me during a contentious depo.  One of the participants in the room was a very techy guy (owned a software company) and said it probably froze b/c I had reached my limit with DB, that it was a known issue.  Ever since then, it's the paid version for me and no more freezing.

Boy, I sure haven't had that happen.  They're always there.  Could she maybe have a few Dropbox folders set up and is looking in the wrong one?  Only thing I can think of.  I mean, maybe she works for other reporters too and accidentally hit on the wrong file.   Very strange.

I paid the $100 for the paid version for 100 gb, which I will never even come close to using that much.

I've never had it happen either, and I've dragged LOTS of files into Dropbox for scopists.  I just don't understand.

Judy...have your scopist send you a screen shot of the contents of the DB folder she shares with you.  If you confirm it is the correct folder and it is lacking those files, she should get in touch with DB.

When you create a share folder, include your name in it.  That's the best way of avoiding confusion at your scopist's end as to which folder she shares with you.

Joyce,

You're right.  I usually name my folders by the scopist's first name.  But if every reporter did that, they'd have multiple "Suzy" folders, instead of "Suzy/Judy" folder. I seriously do believe she was not checking the correct folder.

She actually thought it was something on my end and suggested I contact Dropbox.  Since I could verify that it was indeed in her folder (and I had no idea what was going on on her end), the job went to another scopist to complete because I can't waste time fiddlefarting around with this stuff (and I have no idea whether I spelled fiddlefarting correctly).

Love the way you put things, Judy...j
