I was on a seven-hour federal case yesterday.  At about 6:30 or so, that warning came on on the iPads saying there is no battery life left.  One of them went dead.  Attorneys are not always happy when that happens.

The power cords are never long enough to plug them in.  I charge them at night and they have 100% power when I go into a realtime job.

Anyone know how to make the battery life last longer?  I only have the brightness turned up half way, so that's not an issue.

I thought iPads are supposed to have a long battery life.  So frustrating.

Kristen,

How long does it hold its charge?  Is there a way to see how much juice is left to know when to recharge it?  I'm thinking of a situation where you have no need to charge something so how long will this charged portable battery keep its charge.

There are lights on the top that indicate how much charge is left.  I charge mine at night when I charge all of my other devices.  It takes awhile to charge because it does give you enough "juice" for a full day of power.  I recently went to a seminar and there were no power outlets.  I ran down my cell phone using it as a hotspot and my ipad.  When they both got low, I plugged them in to the Snow Lizard and was able to charge them and keep power for the rest of the day.  I still had power left on the device, it did not completely drain it even after a long day with powering two devices.  If you have a full charge, you can use it for two devices all day.  The info and reviews said you could charge your phone 4 times before needing to recharge the device.  That seems right as I've used it many times and never completely drained it.  Also, if you forget to recharge, as I've done before... you can charge it in the car with the mini USB that most cell phones (even iPhone) use.

Maybe I forgot to mention that both iPads were at 100% charge at the beginning of the day.  That was not enough to last the whole day apparently.  That was my whole problem.  Your comment: " It takes awhile to charge because it does give you enough "juice" for a full day of power" did not work in my case as my iPads ran out of juice at about 7:00 p.m. and the job went to almolst 8:00 and starting at 9:00 in the morning.  Big problem.  Most jobs don't go this late, and I wish the wouldn't.

Kelli, I was talking about the Snow Lizard taking awhile to charge because it provides enough battery for an entire day. I too charge my iPad but it does not last all day and that's why I mentioned the Snow Lizard as an extra power supply. My reply was to Marge asking how long the charge lasts on the Snow Lizard. Hope that clears up what I was expounding on, the ease of use and amount of charge it provides.

I don't think I've ever heard of a Snow Lizard before, definitely a strange name.  I've just decided to get the chargers and charge them while the depo is going.  That way, one less thing to worry about.

I charge everything at lunch

I actually just decided to plug them in and keep them charged all day.  Then I don't have to worry about it.  However, last time I did this I noticed two of the attorneys took my charger and were charging their phones with it.  sort of defeats the whole purpose.
