Dell Inspiron 1505E

Hey,

Well, I've been having the realtime freeze issue on Total Eclipse. Support has been telling me I need to go to a pcmcia card serial port.

Unfortunately, now the question has come up whether my laptop has a pcmcia card slot or an pcmcia express card slot.

I've looked at my specs sheet, but I can't figure it out. So any of you out there who might have the Dell Inspiron 1505E or knows anyone who has a clue about this laptop, can you ask them whether this computer comes w/the pcmcia regular or express and let me know.

Hey, Kyung, I know someone with this laptop...I will ask and hopefully get an answer soon. In the meantime, I'm going to poke around the Dell web site and see if there's any info there.

I found this reply at the Dell web site/forum: "The E1505 has an Express Card socket. "

The Inspiron E1505 has the Express Card 54 slot and not the PCMCIA. You can hunt down an adapter, but they're bulky and are around $100. Hope this helps.

I need to get a express card serial rs-22 adapter. That's what Eclipse tech support has suggested to help w/my realtime issue.

Anyone have any recommendations on brands?
