What time does your firm start charging for after hour depos?

I'm just curious as to when everybody's after hours start. The firm I work for used to be 5:00 p.m., then it was changed over a year ago to 5:30 p.m., and now I just found out that after hours start at 6:00 p.m.

We all know the old song "working 9 to 5" well, if we've got to make a livin' after 5pm then we need to charge for it too :)

Ever since I first started working in the late '80s, the reporters/firms I worked for didn't start charging extra until 6:00, so I just followed suit when I started setting my rates. What a sheep!

Judy, before 9:00? Really? Dang! I don't remember ever charging or getting paid extra before 9. Good idea! I think my policy has just changed. :)

Mysci, you said if it starts after 5:00. What if it continues after 5:00? Do you charge extra for that?

Thanks. That's pretty much what I do -- except for the doubling bit. That wouldn't fly, but giving the 5:00 to 6:00 hour at regular rates is typical. I think.
