Tip of the Day ?

I am a student and was thinking that there is so much I don't know, so much I should know, so much I could learn from the working reporters, etc.

I was thinking that maybe there could be a Tip of Day where reporters or students could just leave a bit of advice or some words of wisdom or even a funny story.

What do ya think?

tip 1: do finger drills every day, minimum 10 minutes a day

Excuse my ignorance; but I opened the finger drills and can't understand a thing. What theory is this and can you send me the English words for it so I can translate it into the theory I learned.

I agree with Kelli. Write short. Don't just stop at briefs. Learn to phrase. I highly recommend you incorporate a shorter writing style into your own, and I believe the Stenomaster products are the greatest means to get that accomplished. Like Kelli, I write short out of necessity. I would not be able to keep working if I didn't write extremely short.

An added plus, when you learn to write shorter, you build speed at the same time.

I never did finger drills -- ever. My son who is zooming through school has no idea what a finger drill is. Many reporters swear by them, though, and a lot of good ones at that.
