Numbers 1 through 10

I have looked over all the form discussions and am trying to find out how to make my numbers 1 through 10 come up the way I write them rather than letting number conversion do it for me. I guess it just comes from being old(er), but I write these numbers the way I want them to come out and then number conversion changes them when I don't want them changed. I love the number conversion otherwise, but is there any way I can make it ignore the numbers 1 through 10? I don't know if it's a glitch in the system or not, but the other day I wrote 19/8/6 for the year and it changed it to 198six. What's up with that? (And before I get a bunch of messages telling me there's a shorter way to write 1986 rather than three strokes, the witness took a long time to get the answer out.)

Thanks, Jeanese. I have a depo tomorrow and will give it a try. It's been driving me crazy! Like I say, I love the number conversion except for this one little thing.

HI. When I switched over to CaseCATalyst, the trainer took out all my numbers and I had to insert into the dictionary 1 through 100. I don't know if that will help you or not. I can give you the name of the trainer and you can call her or email her and ask.
I also worked with the settings to squish them, but if you need a comma then I write the comma.
I've changed my writing style.

Thanks, Joyce. I'll let you know what works best. I have a trainer's name in my area, but it's kind of like the directions to the cabinet you're about to build--to read the instructions or not to read the instructions. I never read the instructions first :-)

I'll bet you have a "Date trigger" somewhere in the question preceding that answer. Look in the reveal codes in the question before that. For the fix, though, I would call Customer support, if you have it, or possibly Anthony Frizolone will have some advice on that.

Thanks for all the replies. I changed the translate settings for the numbers and it worked like a charm. I thought I had certain things checked, but as it turns out, the setting for 1-10 as words was checked. So I unchecked that and it worked. All my other numbers are now working for the automatic number conversion, so I'm a happy camper. Thanks!
