I read it in the car, had 10hrs total, lol. Finished!
I liked it from Washington on. But also I wonder if it was because I was reading 'straight' thru and not setting it down?? I think I may have had too many days off to 'connect' as well??
I liked the ending also. I was sad to think he was leaving her! And I was SO happy he did not kill Willie! I was expecting Delfina to die in the Trade Centers as 'punishment' for him not killing Willie.
I would rather live 'forever' with someone else. But won't their child wonder why they don't get older? LOL!
I loved the history of NYC. I can't believe...well, I 'can'...but the no water thing was terrible! What terrible conditions they lived in. I would have liked a blip of a chapter about 1929 and the crash. I think it was too huge of a jump to 2000. I would have liked one more chapter to tie it into 2000.
And to have 'seen' the music and art grow/change was cool. Then for him to see 'his' art I thought was neat. I want to also go look up his address and see if that building is there, lol.
Did you notice Tweed was a 'real' guy? That is cool. I would like to read more about him.
I don't think it was a 10, but maybe a 7? Just because I did not cry, just a little tear, at the end, lol. Maybe because Cormac was alone all those years?? I just did not have a 'deep' connection to him. I did like the Countess
