Not a high-rated one. Is about her hubby, Mad Dog Sullivan. He is the only person to escape from Attica. I see a lot of the 'points' made of treatment of prisoners in the 50s thru the 70s, but it really seems to try to feel 'sympathetic' to him. And is not 'high quality' story telling. She does it as 'him' as he is still alive, in prison. So is first person. But you can tell 'he' is not telling it?? Not sure if that makes sense. And he is 'always' not the one at 'fault' or the really, really 'bad' guy...just at the wrong place/wrong time? Oh, but he did kill 30 people, go figure! LOL!

I had Parole Boards for Attica a few weeks ago, his name came up so Googled and decided to read about him. Not sure if I am just becoming 'numb' to stories?? I know it was HORRIBLE before the Attica riots. One roll of toilet paper a 'month'!!! One bucket of cold water a week for bathing and some other stuff like that.

The book explains how officers/etc tried to pit the blacks against the whites w/in the prision as that would cause 'them' to hurt each other and leave the officers/etc alone. And how violent they were to prisoners...which, again, I can believe. It 'is' getting better though, right?? Or am I naive?
