Eclipse Version 5 Users

This group is for Version 5 users to share what aspects of Version 5 they are using and why.....as well as requests for help as problems arise using Version 5.

I just downloaded Version 5 (a year after it came out), and I feel like I'm learning Eclipse all over again.

Would greatly appreciate input from other Version 5 users.

Jeremy just posted (in the Development section) that there's an new update patch, Version 5.0.0.19.  I read the description of what it fixes and don't think I have experienced any of those problems.  Jenny, do you recommend that we download this?

I'll experiment with your suggestion.

Thanks!

Oh, I see.  Thanks for clarifying, Freddie. Yep, manually doing it would be tedious.

When you reformat it, could you have each Q&A (now new speaker at RH margin) defined so that there would be a new paragraph command before the speaker's name?  In other words, your stroke would include the {N}, then the speaker?

Just a thought.  What do you think?  Wonder if tech support could help you.

What I'm trying to do is take the text from a transcript that I've done in one format and put that text into another format.  So no new steno strokes or re-trans.

Your dictionary entry for paragraphing, is it {N}?  If it is, how about changing it to {N} {N}?  No matter what kind of paragraph you're in, hitting the paragraph stroke will give you two new lines.

Am I understanding what it is you want to accomplish?

I'm transcribing an ongoing series of interviews where the client wants the transcripts in two different formats.  One is what I consider regular Q-and-A format, where the first line of each paragraph is indented.  That's my regular setup.  No problem there.

However, the client also wants a second version of each transcript in a format where the speaker's full name is used in place of the Q or A.  Each paragraph is left-justified, no indentations. To indicate a paragraph break, I double space between each paragraph.

It's easy to do the change from Q and A to the names in a few strokes.  As well as the paragraph settings.  But I can't figure out a way to do the double spacing of each paragraph other than to do it manually.  And that's very tedious and is taking far more time than I would like.

Is there a way to create a template where I can take my original Q-and-A format and move it into the new template and voila?
