Experienced, no-frills proofreader actively seeking steady work. I prefer .txt files and provide a simple errata sheet with corrections and queries. I maintain running word lists for each case and double-check all names, addresses, and industry terminology for quality assurance. I have a rate sheet, but it is not engraved in stone (much more interested in steady, weekly work), and my current reporter can be contacted as a reference. My availability is immediate. If interested, please email pascribe721@gmail.com. Serious inquiries ONLY. I respond to all inquiries; and when I respond, please acknowledge. I have received numerous inquiries to which I responded with requested information and never received any further follow-up contact.

New year, new you! Are you wasting precious time by scrolling through PDF pages to transfer your proofreader's corrections to your software?  Have you considered using a proofreader who proofreads directly in your software?  I make changes in your transcript with the Track Changes feature turned on. You'll see every change that I make.  Hidden Text is used for communicating, and Scanstops allow you to quickly advance to see my changes. There's only 24 hours in a day. Reclaim some of that time by making that final step of your transcript process a little more efficient. My clients love it, and I think you will too.  For more about me and my process, visit www.precisionproofreading.net.

I am a Case CATalyst and PDF proofreader.  In Case CAT I use Scanstops, Hidden Keys and Track Changes or whatever method you prefer to make corrections so that you are completely in control of your transcript.  I use iAnnotate for PDF proofing, making annotations above your text so nothing is ever changed in your transcripts.

Email me if you need help with a RealTeam job.  I love to help reporters be efficient.

I have availability in my schedule.  Please email me at ptompkins@pmtproofreading.com or visit my website at pmtproofreading.com for details.

Have your transcripts read by not only a proofreader with 25+ years experience, but nearly a decade of experience in transcription who understands what a transcript is and how to proofread it. I offer competitive rates with fast turnaround time using industry-standard resources like Bad Grammar, Good Punctuation. I have worked in dozens of jurisdictions all over the U.S. and Canada and am used to juggling many different reporter preferences and transcript style guides. I would love to be your proofreader! I have room for two-three more proofreading clients in my workload.

I am skilled in proofreading a variety of transcripts, including transcripts with medical and legal terminology. I was taught using Morson’s English Guide for Court Reporters, Margie Wakeman Wells’s resources, and NCRA guidelines.

Let me handle some of your workload while you take some time to enjoy life with your family and friends.

I proofread in PDF format which allows you to retain control of your transcript and have the final say. I read your document word for word paying attention to spelling, punctuation, and the context of the transcript. I have an eye for detail and am skilled in researching names and terms.

Let’s get to know each other,

I was an editor for various publishing and software companies in the San Francisco Bay Area for many years - on staff and freelance. I also proofread transcripts for several years, both in text format and text with audio backup, working for various court reporters and scopists. I have been out of this line of work for a few years but would like to start proofreading again. My rates are reasonable, I'm very accurate, and have never met a deadline I couldn't meet or exceed! Would be happy to do a test project for you to get started.
