Thanks for taking the time to reply to my question. I did make a decision...at first I was really impressed by Eclipse, not so much when I viewed Case. But I think I wasn't as impressed with Case because I had already seen all the bells and whistles with Eclipse. Knowing that Stenograph will probably be the last one standing in our industry, that Eclipse and Case will always push each other to improve, I figured I couldn't go wrong either way. I chose Case. Also what influenced my decision was that the Eclipse people NEVER called me back. Okay...one time. The Case person just seemed more interested in me and my needs. Also, Case offered 0% financing at their standard price. The Eclipse guy said, "Yeah, you can have 0% financing but we will raise the price for that"...how is that a deal???? Training next week...can't wait!

I agree with Rhoda, training is the key. Hire a certified Stenograph trainer who will take you through an initial skills training and that will set you up to being more proficient with Case CATalyst. Talk to your sales rep. about purchasing training vouchers.

I started out learning Eclipse, then tried DigitalCAT, then went back to Eclipse. Now that I've bought a Mira, I decided to purchase Case Student and give it a test drive. Something about having as much of my equipment compatible makes me sleep better at night. Learning bunches from people at school and will be attending the seminars in SF in May. Can't wait!

The training is key. the Indexing is awesome! Took me weeks to set mine up, but I am stubborn and didn't ask for help, lol. I did the Chicago weekend for Case 8 and it was awesome! Compuserv's forum has a wonderful Stenograph group.
