Help! My laptop just died!
Toshiba Satellite Pro, bought in 2002. It won't turn on. I'm going to go to Best Buy to purchase a new laptop. They have Geek Squad there, and I'm going to ask them to transfer my harddrive (which has my depo jobs) info to the new laptop. But since this is the first time I've ever experienced this tragedy, can anyone give me advice on what laptop to buy or how to get through this mess? Please respond ASAP!!

this is what you should do in my opinion.
1- either buy a used XP (some still sell new xp) laptop ***your easiest best option
2- buy vista (install casecat) thentransfer your jobs on it. *** you gonna have to learn a bunch of new things.. I would go with XP

Thank you, Trina, for you input. I'm calling around now for a geek to help me. My power supply works fine and I've babied this laptop ever since I got it. I don't take anything for granted.

I have CaseCat version 8. This came out when Vista was introduced. I'm planning to go to Best Buy and buy a laptop there.
